15 Hours Funded Childcare

All children in England get 570 funded hours per academic year. It’s usually taken as 15 hours a week for 38 weeks of the year. You are eligible to claim this from the term after your child’s 3rd birthday..

In some cases, children get this funding earlier – this is based on your household circumstances.

You can find out if you are eligble here:

30 Hours Funded Childcare

You may also be eligible for extended funding, which provides an extra 570 funded hours each academic year — or 1,140 hours if your child is not yet three. This is known as the working parent entitlement.

If you qualify, you’ll need to register with HMRC and share your eligibility code with us once you receive it.

Privately Funded Childcare

You’re very welcome to add privately paid hours to your child’s Preschool place — either alongside funded hours or as your full allocation. We invoice half‑termly in advance, and payments are due before the start of each half‑term so everything is nice and simple.

Our current fees (subject to quarterly review):

  • 2‑year‑olds: £6.50 per hour
  • 3‑year‑olds: £6.00 per hour
  • We’re always happy to arrange personalised payment plans if that helps.

We run a sessional system, which means all hours — funded or paid — are taken in 3‑hour sessions.

Preschool is open term‑time only, Monday to Friday, with two daily sessions:

  • Morning: 9:00am – 12:00pm
  • Afternoon: 12:00pm – 3:00pm

If your child is joining us for the afternoon session, please send them in with a packed lunch, as we’re not able to provide lunches on site

Wellbeing Payment

We ask for a small £1 Wellbeing Payment per session. This helps us provide all the little extras that make Preschool such a rich and nurturing environment — from sensory and creative materials to baking ingredients and celebration activities. It also supports our much‑loved Sound Journeys, which the children really enjoy.

The Wellbeing Payment isn’t compulsory, but it does make a meaningful difference to the experiences we can offer. Many families choose to contribute because it helps us keep activities varied, engaging, and supportive of every child’s wellbeing.

If you’d like to chat about how the payment works or what it helps to fund, we’re always happy to talk.
